Regent Nursery operates a Healthy Eating Policy, children learn about the importance of eating healthily and its benefits and we hope that this will set up life-long standards of eating well.
The children and staff sit together to eat their snacks and lunch: it provides the children with a very social experience, encouraging interaction with both other children and adults and introducing an awareness of social etiquette. The children are encouraged to be as independent as possible during lunch, but staff will offer assistance, if children need it.
Regent Nursery provides children with:
- Breakfast between 8am and 9am consisting of cereals and toast with milk or water
- A mid-morning snack at 9.30am consisting of fresh fruits with milk or water
- A healthy, hot meal for lunch between 11.30am and 12pm
- A light tea time snack between 3pm and 3.30 pm
We cater for children’s individual cultural and dietary needs. We adhere to the guidelines set out by the Caroline Walker Trust, Jamie Oliver’s Feed Me Better and the Department for Education and Skills.
